Family business

February 6, 2014 2:15 pm Published by Hi, I hope someone may be able to help me. I am doing research into the family history. An ancestor, I believe, used to own a shop at 38 Parliament Street, Harrogate in the 1930's. I wondered if there exists any records from that time such as deeds, lease documents, newspaper adverts etc., that may help me confirm that my assumption is correct. The lady in question was Beatrice Adelaide Pickles, who went on to marry Frederick William Matson.  I am told that she ran a millinery in the town and that her business name was 'Peta' - a name that her family called her. If anyone has any information or knows of anyone who may be able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Regds, Alan Taylor Ernest Matson 1869-1938
