Transcription Tuesday
January 11, 2020 11:54 am "Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine are looking for volunteers to take part in a global indexing day to help unlock the potential of thousands of historic documents. If you have ever benefited from free online resources, now is your chance to give something back to future family historians. For the fourth year running we are delighted to be working with FamilySearch to help index their vast collection of parish records. This year, for the first time, we will be focussing mainly on nonconformist records from Essex, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Northumberland and Norfolk. Transcribe from the comfort of your own home. All you need is internet access. You can take part for as long as you want during the day, whether it’s just half an hour or half a day! Why not get together with others and share the experience?" How To Take Part "Transcription Tuesday offers a range of projects to be involved in (see website below for more details). To support the FamilySearch parish registers project, visit familysearch.org/indexing and select ‘Find a project’. (You will need to register for a free FamilySearch account if you haven’t got one already.) Select the European region and then United Kingdom. Choose the parish register project that interests you and click ‘Start Indexing’. It’s as simple as that!" It takes place on Tuesday 4th February 2020. Tags: TranscriptionCategorised in: News
